Very Important Books: The Artist’s Way…

I’m through the preamble, and I’m reading now The Artist’s Way. It was recommended to me by several people; Jenna Fischer, Scott Ginsberg and others.

I am blown away. In as much as “Getting Things Done,” helped me to restore some sanity, and helped me to recover my sense of control over my ship. This amazing book may wind up being more important than that one was.

How important is creativity? How important is it to be able to get back to the unlimited sense of possibility? Remember when we thought we could be president someday, or be a writer? What stopped us? Probably our own fears and insecurities more than anything else. I’ve read through this book, and I’m getting back to the 12 week exercises.

Big dreams are possible and attainable and not out of reach. That’s what this book has shown me. Having fluid writing, being calmly productive and creative is not so different from Getting Things Done.

I’ll write more as this book bears more fruit for me, but for now, I’m really enjoying the recreation of myself.
