A Moment of Clarity: Splitting The Blog into 3 Parts

fork in roadI posted on my Facebook the other day that I had found “it” that I’d figured out what I wanted to be when I grow up.  I guess this is a fork in the road.

That was true.  I did.  And I’ve got that sense of purpose to me.  I don’t want to be a ‘coach’ or a ‘consultant,’ though undoubtedly I’ll be doing some coaching and consulting as time goes on.   I don’t want to be a fraud or a fake.  I want to be in the people-helping business.

I’ve taken the hits, so you don’t have to.

This blog will be about THAT story, about going from being a jerk-face mortgage guy to someone that helps people.

This blog, right here, will focus not on my personal rants and musings, but the journey to be a freelancer.  I will make this the best online resource for solo-prenuers, freelancers and scalable freelancers.

This blog will have nothing but ‘how to sell stuff’ as a freelancer.  To be the best, most useful place for freelancers that need to sell stuff to go.  To make good on the promise of soloprenuership.    To help everyone that needs it.    The class that’s coming?  Outline tomorrow, vids soon.

All that’s happened, my journey through my real estate and such will stay up, but the bottom line is that I need to make this the best resource for freelancers possible so I can set a good example for people.

The Personal Crap: Posterous

Oh, I will still blog personal stuff.  How can I not?  I’ll do it at my Posterous.  That will be my sales number goals, all the stuff that others don’t care about.  My self indulgent cathartic release that I don’t honestly care if anyone reads, but must be put down.   It’ll have a lot of posts on accountability, so subscribe if you’re there & like to.  I am basically gonna be thinking out loud there.  Not bragging, but not censoring what I’m afraid of, what’s happening.  I want more transparency in my life, and that’s my spot for it.  This isn’t though I’ll link out there when appropriate.

I can throw stuff up there without worrying about proofing/etc.   This will

The Techniques for My Core Clients: Guerrilla.ME

Finally, there’s a lot of social media stuff, 2.0 tech stuff I do that sells.  That’s all gotta go to Guerrilla.ME.  That’s for normal businesses that wanna sell stuff on the web with gusto, verve and moxie.  I know how to grow a presence, manage a rep.  I know what a lawyer needs to do to get clients.  I know what others need to do.  And I’ll be sharing that with you, there.  Both attitude and technique, that’s where I’ll be doing stuff that sells today.

Stuff that I’ve used, not stuff that “might” work.

More coming, as is always the case.   Tomorrow I’m going to Review the 3 essential books that copywriters must buy.
