“Why Don’t You Love Me The Way I Am?”
“Because I see the magic in beauty in the way that you could be and it is amazing to me.”
It’s a fight, constantly, isn’t it?
I see and want to change things. I want to change myself, I want to improve. And it means that saying “it’s OK” is bullshit. It’s condescending. We form relationships based on potential, not necessarily reality. We love people for their ideal selves.
Part of us cries out – why don’t you love me the way I am. But that’s limited thinking, isn’t it.
