Who Is This Guy?
"This guy," is Chris Johnson, a 36 year old hustler. I started a few projects (others call them companies, companies pay taxes) and finally a company called Simplifilm. I was a mortgage broker, a paid writer (amazingly), a coffee-drinking-closer, and one of the first Real Estate Bloggers.
Where Can I Contact Chris?
I'm everywhere. I check email a lot.
- Facebook (though I hate Facebook)
- Google +
- Simplifilm.com
- Email genuinechris@gmail.com
I'm not super active on any of those except Twitter.
Why Should I Read This Blog?
I'm not going to give you the "step one, step two, step three" trite bullshit that you see everywhere. There's enough people like that and I never got good at it. What I will do is share what I've learned in a way that is hopefully going to help you impute the values of stuff. I want to be effective at selling. Sometimes that means I have to cold call, sometimes it means other things.
What Other Blogs Do You Love?
Easy. Right now, I'm into PandoDaily for tech news. It has, you know, actual insight and opinion in lieu of Tech Crunch's breathless cheerleading of funding. I like Paris Lemon, usually.
Brad Feld's blog and, of course Fred Wilson's are as advertised and fantastic.
For "smaller scale" blogs, I dig RyanHoliday. I probably drive him nuts with gratitude, but that dude was the catalyst for some profound change.
I also love Willie Jackson's blog, I love OutThere Comic (read it from the start, it's choice). I love Jeff Turner's blog.
Why Aren’t There Any Comments Here?
Mostly because I want this blog to be mine. Comments provide a bad feedback mechanism. I used to get loads of 'em. But they didn't make me any money, they didn't make anything easier for me, and they sure as hell didn't do anything great.
So I ditched 'em.
What Are You Into?
Right now, I'm into running, reading, writing, and learning. I get to speak to the smartest people on the planet on a regular basis. Hackers that are changing the world. And they say "great job," because of the work we're doing.
Are These Questions Really “Frequently Asked?”
No. Not at all.
